UC Sunflower Revolution – Saturday, Sept. 8

The 2012 Sunflower Revolution is a free educational event for Parkinson’s patients, caregivers, and family lmembers presented by the Gardner Center for Parkinson’s disease at the University of Cincinnati.  This year’s event is located at the Oasis, in Loveland, on Saturday, September 8, 2012.  Click here for registration information and details.

UC & APDA Team Up to present “PD 101″ – Saturday, August 18

Newly diagnosed or in need of more information about PD basics?  Join local experts from UC and the APDA on Saturday, August 18 from 10am-12pm for a symposium overviewing signs and symptoms, role of exercise and  quality of life, and pharmacologic treatment of PD.  No fee for participation.  Located in the UC Department of Neurology: 260 Stetson Street, Suite 2300, Cincinnati, OH 45219.  Walk-ins welcome.  Click here to download the event flier.

Cincy Dance for PD Takes Summer Vacation

The Dancing with Parkinson’s class will take a summer vacation in July. The
last class before the break will be Wednesday, June 27. The program will
resume in August with August 8, 15, and 22 special trial classes. The
instructors for this class were trained by David Leventhal who was featured
in the June 12 rerun of the Frontline program abut Dave Iverson’s PD.

These special classes will be open to anyone interested in trying out this
marvelous movement opportunity. This dance class is intended for people with
Parkinson’s and their care partners and offers a way to have fun and be
creative while moving and stretching. Partners are not needed. The class
meets Wednesdays at 2:00 pm at de la Arts Place, 5041 Oaklawn Drive in
Oakley. There is no charge for the class. For more information, contact
